elebrated Eid-ul-Azha also known as Greater or Qurbaan Eid across the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Eid- Prayers were offered at main Eidgahs and mosques or respective communities wherein peace and prosperity of region and country was begged. Ahl-e-Sunnat Waljammat, Ahl-e-Hadith, Brelevi community held their prayers at Jamma Moques at Gari Bagh; the main gathering of Shia community was held at Jamia Mosque Khazana road while Ismaili community offered Eid prayers at their respective Jamat Khanas.
The constant prices hikes have served to reduce influx of animals for sacrifices to commomerate the great sacrifice by prophet Abraham (A.S), this year.
Security Tighten in Gilgit city during Eid celebrations

GIL GIT, November 16: As par directives of Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah, ;law enforcement agencies were kept vigilant and security has been beefed up to avert any unwanted incident in the Gilgit, main hub of regional economic and commercial activities. Inhabitants of the city experienced violence since 1988 sectarian clashes and despite of tall claims of political and civil administration, culprits had been creating law and order situation whenever they want in sensitive areas of the city.
