Voice of Hunza
According to data available on the country's socio-economic condition in last six month is horrifying. The rapid increased food inflation and diminishing family incomes is forcing parents to pull their children out of schools- for they can eat and nourish quickly first to earn little for their own, then be educated, not both simultaneously. The situation is even more crucial in urbane areas where human life is increasingly become valueless, some times even lesser than an animal. Apparently, there many reasons that caused to bring more than hundred million population of the state are inable and corrupt political leadership, self interested approach, favouritism, feudal based unjust system and expliotative elements did not allow to transfer the fruits of development and yeilding benefits to the masses during last sixty two years. History tells that regimes during last six decades almost followed the imperialistic policy as it has had thought very little for poor. One of the main deficiency in the over all governing patterns is absence of rule of law; and rules exist only for poor not for elite classes who are struggling for their existance every passing day. While those who get enter into assemblies first serves their own interests. The so called economic crisis has triggered down and right sizing-thus decreasing potential of a common man who hardly able to buy daily bread. At the same time country is experiencing surge of umemployment due to lack of well planned population control machanism, consumption verses available resources in all sectors of services on part of both national, provincial and regional governments. On bottom line, the gap between rich and poor is widening for those with larger capital is earning more than their expectations. Fraud and deception once considered nefarious have transformed into fundamentals of business dealings in mega cities like Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad etc. The every day life is increasingly becoming more difficult for casual bread winers; where human dignity seems at stake, street crimes are rampant and even life is worthless than a cell phone. Similarly, the reports publishing in both international and domestic media implies a rapid rise in suicide rates, who want to escape starvation and humiliation in their lives. Most of them remain unregistered to soften the tarnishing image of state in international community. Neverthless, our leadership seems unacquainted to miseries of masses-uttering every thing going well thus overlooking harsh realities beneath swell . The main stream political leadership is digging up certain unnecessary issues that lack public interests instead of resolution to real ones. Few quetions arise in our mind: does a person unable to feed his children really care whether ex-president Pervez Musharraf to be tried; a father who gets payments in the mid of the month instead of payment of fee charges of his children will care about the presence of super power in the region? Does a jobless person, though qualified enough used to hunt for a job to fulfill requirement of even his own life be impressed by the president's self applaused achievements during his tenure? On bottom level the social life also seems a nightmare for minorities in the society. We ought to acknowledge our negative attitude towards minorities through hatred in the name of religion in the country. Religious fanatics targetted Chiristain minorities, while law enforcers as usual remained silent and looked on the episode. The successive incidents against Chiristain minority particularaly in Punjab, where voilence has been provoked by unproven allegations have created a feeling of anxiety regarding their future. Such an unfortune incident that being a human being down our eyes, took place place recently in Sialkot. Robert F. Masih, who was detained after subsequent to rampage of Muslim mob on blasphemy charges was later found dead in police custody. His family members were warned and forced to leave the place, were abstained from burrying him in his own village-an act against human rights declaration. The incident disclose an injust system: victims were harrassed not punished fanatists. Two aspects are noticeable: judiciary, the main custodian of justice is replaced by unprofesional police who decide their own; secondly, we have lost our religious values: tolerance, empathy, pluralism and respect towards other beliefs. It is the duty of honourable court to sentence or absolve a suspect or alleged not the people themselves or law inforcers. Our holy prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) inspired the mankind by his generosity, kindness and compassion even to his deadliest enemy. He forbade use of power and emphasised to show more tolerance. We have many examples when Asahab (companions of Holy Prophet) Ayema (A.S) shown unprecedented example of forgiveness to enemies. Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) forgave the dwellers of Taif for their attrocities and obstacles in the way of Islam. He told, " saving of a life is like saving humanity and extinguish a life is like murder of whole humanity". We have forgotten those golden rules and following our own to support our individual interest, interpretation and the end results are before us.
