VoH Watch
HUNZA, Hyderabad, Nov. 30: (Shamsuddin Muhammad) Eid-ul-Azha, also known as greater Eid was celebrated in Hunza-Nagar including other parts of Gilgit-Baltistan with religious zest to commumorate the great offerings of Hazrat Abrahim's son Ebrahem, a holy prophet in monotheist relgions of the world. Pilgrims performed Haj at Ramy Al-Jamarat, throwing stones to signify their defiance of Satan (devil).
Yet, the Eid was celebrated in many places of N.W.F.P, with that of Saudi Arabia, a day earlier to our schedule. The event that actually gives a philosophy of sacrifice of world wishes by curtailing our worldly pursuits with either means has now turned to a strange fassion in big cities. The people now try to show by roaming bigger oxes to show the locals in the streets that they are superior and virtuous than them. Nevertheless, the rural areas are still out of this impact where such events brings spirit of brother hood and mutual respect. On this auspicious occasion, we, the team of the blog extend our warmest eid greetings to all our valuable readers.
